Make + Take: Herbal Bitters Cocktails Make and Sip (2018)

Using common plants, we’ll make our own herbal bitters — long used as a digestive and overall health tonic. This workshop will cover the historic and medicinal properties of bitter herbs, as well as guidelines for creating delicious cocktail bitters. If you have an empty 4oz glass jar with a lid at home, please bring it in to be reused. If not, we’ll have one on hand for you. All materials provided. General Pricing: $25 Member Pricing: $20

Tuesday Member Paddle (2018)

A special benefit for members of Bartram’s Garden, this 90-minute flatwater, small-group paddle is from the Bartram’s Garden to Center City and back. Kayaks, paddles, life jackets, headlamps, and basic instruction are provided. Volunteers paddle with the group as safety boaters. Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult in a tandem kayak. The only one of its kind on the Lower Schuylkill River, this 1.5 acre freshwater tidal wetland was restored in 1997 and expanded in 2013. Little Explorers: Caterpillars, Dragonflies, and Butterflies (2018)

Search for cool bugs in the Garden and make your very own insect sculpture. *Note this is a Thursday Monthly program for toddlers and preschoolers ages 2-4.
