Nature Photography Series in the Orchard

Join Philadelphia Orchard Project (POP) at Bartram’s Garden to learn the basics of nature photography! In each 3-hour, stand-alone session, instructor Joshua Lee Mallory of Noise Soul Cinema will cover shot composition, lighting, autofocus, and pro-tips for editing photos through your phone or Instagram. Twilight in the Garden (2018)

Twilight in the Garden is the annual gala to benefit Bartram’s Garden and the year’s largest fundraiser. Join us this fall to honor Senator Anthony H. Williams and Mr. Edward M. D’Alba for their commitment to Philadelphia’s riverfront communities. The evening will include cocktails in the historic flower garden, a starlit view of the Philadelphia skyline, and a dinner of late-summer seasonal favorites in our new hilltop pavilion. The festivities also feature a lively auction and guided sunset tours of the garden.

Ephemeral Sculptures with Invasive Species

Phragmites australis is a fast-growing perennial grass with hollow woody stems. Like many cosmopolitan plants, it has a reputation for choking out native species and thus providing inferior habitat for native fauna. Still, labeling any living organism—plant or animal—as “invasive” is not entirely uncontroversial.
