Flower Moon Rowboating (2018)

Part of our Full Moon Rowboating series. Take in the wonders of Stacy Levy’s Tide Fields in the evening and row the full moon tide in brightly lit skiffs built by Philly youth. Each event is themed to the moon (Flower, Solstice, Thunder, Sturgeon, Harvest). Wednesday Free Fishing

Learn how to catch one of the 42 fish species found in the tidal Schuylkill. We provide rods, bait and basic instruction. First come, first served. Supplies are limited.   No fishing license necessary, state license requirements are waived for these events. Great for youth & adults who are new or intermediate anglers.

BirdPhilly Presents: Sunset Bird Walk (2018)

Historic Bartram’s Garden is perhaps the best 45+ acres of birding in Philly! With river access, fields, woodlands, wetlands, and ornamental plantings, this spot has an amazing diversity of bird-attracting habitat. We expect to see late wintering waterfowl with early arriving breeders and migrants like warblers and Orioles (both species). Led by BirdPhilly’s Daniel Kobza. Saturday Free Boating (2018)

Explore this quiet stretch of the Schuylkill River on one of our kayaks or rowboats. No registration or boating experience necessary! All ages are welcome, minors must be accompanied by an adult. Tuesday Member Paddle (2018)

A special benefit for members of Bartram’s Garden, this 90-minute flatwater, small-group paddle is from the Bartram’s Garden to Center City and back. Kayaks, paddles, life jackets, headlamps, and basic instruction are provided. Volunteers paddle with the group as safety boaters. Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult in a tandem kayak. Little Explorers: The Garden In Bloom (2018)

We’ll explore Bartram’s Garden with all of our senses and create colorful flower art. Monthly program for toddlers and preschoolers ages 2-4. Each session includes activities, performances, snacks, and walks through the garden, weather permitting. Pre-registration required, one adult chaperone for every two children. Beer and Boats at Bartram’s Garden (2018)

Celebrate Philly Beer Week in the great outdoors with local brews served at the Bartram’s Garden Community Boathouse on the Schuylkill River. Second Saturday Volunteer Day (2018)

We welcome volunteers on the second and fourth Saturday of most months from April to October, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Volunteers will work with our staff on seasonal tasks like weeding, planting, cleaning, pruning, and light maintenance. No special experience or skills required. Dress for working outdoors, and if you have them, bring work gloves and a water bottle. PLEASE NOTE: Each adult must register individually in order to complete the waiver.
