Fourth Saturday Volunteer Day (2018)

We welcome volunteers on the second and fourth Saturday of most months from April to October, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Volunteers will work with our staff on seasonal tasks like weeding, planting, cleaning, pruning, and light maintenance. No special experience or skills required. Dress for working outdoors, and if you have them, bring work gloves and a water bottle. PLEASE NOTE: Each adult must register individually in order to complete the waiver.

Saturday Free Boating (2018)

Explore this quiet stretch of the Schuylkill River on one of our kayaks or rowboats. No registration or boating experience necessary! All ages are welcome, minors must be accompanied by an adult. Tree Medicine Walk (2018)

THIS PROGRAM IS *SOLD OUT*   Join our Wilderness Gardener, Mandy Katz, for in-depth exploration of the fascinating medicinal trees of Bartram’s Garden. Tuesday Member Paddle (2018)

A special benefit for members of Bartram’s Garden, this 90-minute flatwater, small-group paddle is from the Bartram’s Garden to Center City and back. Kayaks, paddles, life jackets, headlamps, and basic instruction are provided. Volunteers paddle with the group as safety boaters. Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult in a tandem kayak. Wednesday Free Fishing

Learn how to catch one of the 42 fish species found in the tidal Schuylkill. We provide rods, bait and basic instruction. First come, first served. Supplies are limited.   No fishing license necessary, state license requirements are waived for these events. Great for youth & adults who are new or intermediate anglers.

Lighthouse Parade/Party (2018)
