POPCORE 4: Permaculture and Philadelphia’s Food System (2018)

Join the Philadelphia Orchard Project (P.O.P.) for the fourth and final session of their POPCORE urban orchardist training course. This workshop will introduce the ethics and principles of permaculture ecosystem design and explore its relation to the world of urban agriculture in Philadelphia. Little Explorers: Growing Plants, Growing Minds (2018)

We’ll search the garden for young greens sprouts and learn about the baby plant inside of every seed, then we’ll plant a seed to grow at home. Monthly program for toddlers and preschoolers ages 2-4. DIY not?  Kids will get to think about practical problems in their lives and engineer creative solutions with circuitry and simple machines. SECOND WEDNESDAY OF EVERY MONTH. Second Saturday Volunteer Day (2018)

We welcome volunteers on the second and fourth Saturday of most months from April to October, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Volunteers will work with our staff on seasonal tasks like weeding, planting, cleaning, pruning, and light maintenance. No special experience or skills required. Dress for working outdoors, and if you have them, bring work gloves and a water bottle. PLEASE NOTE: Each adult must register individually in order to complete the waiver.
