Little Explorers: Water Wonderland (2018)

Cool off with outdoor water games and discover why water is important to the Garden. Monthly program for toddlers and preschoolers ages 2-4. Each session includes activities, performances, snacks, and walks through the garden, weather permitting. Pre-registration required, one adult chaperone for every two children. Bring a picnic lunch and stay for our free story hour at noon from April to November. Tuesday Member Paddle (2018)

A special benefit for members of Bartram’s Garden, this 90-minute flatwater, small-group paddle is from the Bartram’s Garden to Center City and back. Kayaks, paddles, life jackets, headlamps, and basic instruction are provided. Volunteers paddle with the group as safety boaters. Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult in a tandem kayak. Tidal Schuylkill Kayak Tours

This small group tour will educate paddlers on the tides, plants, animals, history and fossil fuel industry of the lower Schuylkill. See sections of the river and oil refineries only visible from on the water. Kayaks, paddles, lifejackets and basic instruction will be provided. Second Saturday Volunteer Day (2018)

We welcome volunteers on the second and fourth Saturday of most months from April to October, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Volunteers will work with our staff on seasonal tasks like weeding, planting, cleaning, pruning, and light maintenance. No special experience or skills required. Dress for working outdoors, and if you have them, bring work gloves and a water bottle. PLEASE NOTE: Each adult must register individually in order to complete the waiver.
