Tuesday Member Paddle (2018)

A special benefit for members of Bartram’s Garden, this 90-minute flatwater, small-group paddle is from the Bartram’s Garden to Center City and back. Kayaks, paddles, life jackets, headlamps, and basic instruction are provided. Volunteers paddle with the group as safety boaters. Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult in a tandem kayak. Marbling & Nature Printing

Nature printing was practiced by naturalists of the 18th and 19th centuries as an efficient method of recording plant specimens. Marbling is a centuries-old process of decorating paper. Benjamin Franklin made use of both techniques as an anti-counterfeiting device for paper currency. Fourth Saturday Volunteer Day (2018)

We welcome volunteers on the second and fourth Saturday of most months from April to October, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Volunteers will work with our staff on seasonal tasks like weeding, planting, cleaning, pruning, and light maintenance. No special experience or skills required. Dress for working outdoors, and if you have them, bring work gloves and a water bottle. PLEASE NOTE: Each adult must register individually in order to complete the waiver.
