Bartram’s Garden is free to those who wish to explore on their own from dawn to dusk. We are open year-round, with the exception of City-observed holidays.
Guided tours are offered Thursday through Sunday, from the first week in May to the first week in December. Tickets are available in the Welcome Center. Please note that in 2015, the Bartram House will undergo conservation work and will not be open to the public. New tours will be offered in 2015 that highlight the exciting changes underway at Bartram’s Garden.
When You Arrive: Free parking is available in our visitor parking lot. Make the Welcome Center (located in the brick courtyard) your first stop to pick up a map and tour tickets. Beverages, souvenirs, seeds, and native plants grown at Bartram’s Garden are available for purchase.
Garden Etiquette: Bicycles, pets, and picnicking are welcome on the grounds, except within our eight-acre botanic garden, which was first planted in 1728. All pets must be leashed in accordance with City of Philadelphia ordinances.
Amenities: Several picnic tables are located on site. While we do not offer dining facilities, snacks and beverages are available in the Welcome Center during our visitor season. Click here to check out a map of other nearby restaurants in the University City area.
ADA Accessibility: ADA accessible bathrooms are available on site.
