The grounds at Bartram’s Garden are free and accessible to the public 365 days a year.
Our tours and programs begin on April 1st and continue through the first weekend in December. During this period, our Welcome Center is open every day except Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after Thanksgiving. Hours are 10-4PM on weekdays and 10-6PM on weekends. Guided tours are available Thursday through Sunday. Tour tickets can be purchased in the Welcome Center. Please visit our calendar for our complete programming schedule.
Year-round Visitor Basics
When You Arrive: Free parking is available in our visitor parking lot. Make the Welcome Center (located in the brick courtyard) your first stop to pick up a map and tour tickets. Beverages, souvenirs, seeds, and native plants grown at Bartram’s Garden are available for purchase.
Garden Etiquette: Bicycles and pets are welcome on the grounds, except within our eight-acre botanic garden, which is a preserved historic landmark. All pets must be leashed in accordance with City of Philadelphia ordinances.
Amenities: Restrooms and water fountains are available during Welcome Center hours. While we do not offer dining facilities, snacks and beverages are available in the Welcome Center during our visitor season. Picnicking on site is encouraged. Several picnic tables are located on site. Click here to check out a list of other nearby restaurants in the SW Philadelphia, West Philadelphia, and University City area.
