Year-round family programs highlight nature, art, and history for kids of all ages and their caregivers.

For sessions requiring advance registration, $2 tickets are available for Southwest Philadelphia neighbors and ACCESS cardholders.

Little Explorers (Ages 2−4)

Little Explorers is a monthly garden adventure for toddlers and preschoolers (ages 2−4) and their caregivers. Programs include crafts, stories, songs, and an exciting walk in the garden. Feel free to bring a snack!

Little Explorers takes place on the first Wednesday of every month from March through November. Advance registration is recommended. One adult chaperone is required for every two children.

Homeschooler Days (Ages 5−11)

Monthly lessons for homeschool students ages 5 to 11 and their caregivers. Curriculum includes science and botany, arts and crafts, history and geology, and more.

Homeschooler Days take place on the second and third Wednesdays of every month. The same lesson is repeated both days. Please be sure to sign up for your preferred date. Sessions are limited to 15 students and their caregivers. Advance registration is recommended.

Family Art Workshops

Create beautiful outdoor-inspired art with artist-led instruction for makers of all ages. Instruction is accessible for children, but caregivers are also encouraged to participate! Sessions explore a range of techniques and styles: from nature journaling to insect illustration, from mixing color to playing with patterns.

Advance registration is recommended.

Drop in for free outdoor pop-ups — no registration required! Explore the Garden’s changing seasons and enjoy family-friendly, educational DIY activities to try outdoors or take home.
