Southwest Spring Fest! (2019)

Join us for a great weekend of family-friendly activities as we kick off our 2019 season! John Heinz Wildlife Refuge and Cobbs Creek Community Environmental Center will also hold fun events this weekend. A free shuttle bus will be available between Heinz, Cobbs Creek, and Bartram’s Garden and several community locations for both weekend days. City Nature Challenge BioBlitz (2019)

Help us kick off our Southwest Spring Fest weekend with the Bartram’s BioBlitz! We’ll be posted up from 9am to 4pm trying to find as many species as possible, but you’re welcome to come and go as you please (or even come early! Looking at you, birders.) Saturday Free Boating (2019)

Kayak or rowboat on this quiet stretch of the Schuylkill River. No registration or boating experience necessary! All ages are welcome, minors must be accompanied by an adult. We provide the boats, life jackets and basic instruction. There are trained rowers available if you would prefer to not row or paddle yourself. Little Explorers: Spring is for the Birds (2019)

Find out where birds live and how they talk, then build your own nest out of materials from the Garden. Monthly program for toddlers and preschoolers ages 2-4. Each session includes activities, performances, snacks, and walks through the garden, weather permitting. Pre-registration required, one adult chaperone for every two children.
