Weaving the Meadow

Explore the basics of weaving in the Bartram’s Garden Meadow! Learn how to use a free-stranded rigid heddle loom, constructed by artist Enrica Ferrero along the banks of the Schuylkill River. Use meadow plants to create unique textures and patterns. During open hours, you can find this hidden loom by following signs from the Community Boathouse or the bike path. Little Explorers: Seed Collectors (2019)

How do seeds travel? Collect seeds from all over the garden and make natural mosaic of seeds. Monthly program for toddlers and preschoolers ages 2-4. Each session includes activities, performances, snacks, and walks through the garden, weather permitting. Pre-registration required, one adult chaperone for every two children.
